Temos International Organization has awarded GENESIS its “Quality in International Patient Care” certification.
Since April 2016, GENESIS became the first Women’s Private Hospital in Northern Greece to receive official certification awarded by the international medical services certification organization specializing in Medical Tourism, TEMOS International, in accordance with the “Quality in International Patient Care” standard. This was done as part of GENESIS’ commitment to continuously modernizing and upgrading its services.
The first and foremost priority of TEMOS certification system is patient centricity. Thus, TEMOS aims to optimize International Patient Management across healthcare facilities worldwide, by promoting and safeguarding best practice.
It is the only Medical Services Certification System in the world that places great importance in the fields of International Patient Management and Medical Tourism, providing for healthcare services certification as well as consulting services in the areas of quality assurance, international patient management, and development of medical tourism services.
This certification demonstrates that GENESIS Private Hospital offers top-notch services, enhancing its reputation and enabling it to attract clientele from new international markets it seeks to establish itself in.
Diplomatic Council (DC) Preferred Partner Hospital Certification
After a successful TEMOS inspection, GENESIS Private Hospital was awarded the “Diplomatic Council (DC) – Preferred Partner Hospital” certification in June 2016.
This is a highly regarded certification that is only awarded to sophisticated healthcare facilities with a proven track record in offering both domestic and international patients safe, high-quality healthcare services.
Along with being certified, GENESIS Private Hospital is now member of the international “DC – Preferred Partner Hospital Directory” list and is a Hospital that the Diplomatic Council officially recommends to all embassies, consulates, and diplomatic corps around the world.
The First Private Hospital in Northern Greece to receive certification in accordance with European Standard EN 15224:2017
The official certification body TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas certified GENESIS as the First Private Hospital in Northern Greece to do so successfully and in accordance with European Standard EN 15224:2017.
It is an official European specification for the provision of health services, with a primary focus on efficient patient safety-related risk management; it includes best practices and internationally recognized tools that, when combined, form the most efficient method for achieving:
- Effective quality management of patient care-associated risks and healthcare services offered by medical institutions
- Implementation of quality control (QC) for all medical institutions
- Evaluation of Clinical Efficacy and ongoing Clinical Performance improvement
- Continuous Professional Development for all healthcare processionals.
- Ensuring patient safety

GENESIS certification according to International Standard ISO 9001:2015
TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, the official certification body, has granted GENESIS full certification in accordance with the International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015.
Scope:
Offering Primary and Secondary Healthcare Services in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynecology, General Surgery, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Medically Assisted Reproduction, and Cryopreservation Bank.
GENESIS’s Biochemical Laboratory has also received accreditation from the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) in accordance with ISO 15189:2012 Standard. The BRAHMS KRYPTOR Immunochemical Analyzer for measuring the following values in blood serum is covered by the official scope of the accreditation: During the first trimester of pregnancy: 1) free β-chorionic gonadotropin (f-β-hCG) and 2) pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) measurements are combined with the Nuchal Translucency (NT) Ultrasound during the 1st trimester of pregnancy to determine the risk for chromosomal defects.
Authorized Stem Cell Collection Center
In partnership with the Public Stem Cell Bank of G. Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki, GENESIS is the first private hospital to successfully complete the accreditation process as an Authorized Stem Cell Collection Center.
This certification is the result of an already valuable partnership between GENESIS and the Public Stem Cell Bank and another addition to the Hospital’s Quality Management System. The concerned certificate was given as evidence that the Public Stem Cell Bank complies with the conditions of the Fact-NetCord international special accreditation for the receipt and collection of umbilical cord blood (Stem Cells).

GENESIS – Founding member of ELITOUR
GENESIS Hospital is one of the founding members of ELITOUR, the first Greek “cluster” of Medical Tourism and a member of the Global Health Travel Council, as part of its expansion into the crucial field of Medical Tourism. ELITOUR is a member of the Global Health Travel Council.
The primary objective of ELITOUR is to promote health tourism in Greece and collaborate with corresponding international organizations on global Medical Tourism issues.
Up until the middle of 2015, ELITOUR had about 43 members.
Other objectives of the newly established body are:
– Promoting Greece as a leading Health Tourism destination.
– Coordinating participants to reach a consensus and advance their commercial enterprises in the Medical Tourism market.
– State support for creating the framework institutionalizing the promotion of Health Tourism in Greece.
– Providing expertise and personalized training for accreditation programs.
– Growth of network communication and collaboration between its members and international associations for Medical Tourism. ELITOUR is a founding member of the “Global Healthcare Travel Council”.
