Fit For 2 is a free, specially designed exercise program for pregnancy, aimed at all pregnant women, regardless of their physical condition and fitness level prior to pregnancy. Participation in the program is subject to approval by the gynecologist monitoring the pregnant woman.
A few words about Fit For 2
Fit For 2 adapts to the needs of pregnant women in each section and trimester, so that each individual can experience the benefits of exercise during pregnancy. As a program, it complies with the guidelines of the ACOG, ACSM, and SCOGC and consists of many types of exercise. Through Fit For 2, pregnant women can improve their physical health, strengthen their mental health, and reduce or eliminate potential musculoskeletal pain so that they can function in their daily lives.
What does a Fit For 2 class include?
Fit For 2 includes exercises from the fields of fitness, Kegel exercises, Pilates, yoga, orthosomatic exercise, aerobics, and myofascial release techniques.
Specifically, during Fit For 2, the following activities take place:
- Exercises to strengthen or maintain the musculoskeletal system.
- Pelvic floor exercises.
- Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques for calming the mind and the central nervous system.
- Stretching and myofascial release exercises.
How can I participate?
The program can be implemented throughout pregnancy, while the pregnant woman’s participation ends with childbirth. However, even in the maternity ward, during the first stage of labor, women can do exercises with a ball and breathing exercises.
The program takes place every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
