  • Department of Pathological Oncology

The Department of Pathological Oncology of the General Hospital GENESIS is a modern Day Care Unit, which provides specialized services to oncology patients. This department complements the medical and nursing services provided by the GENESIS Hospital , which from 2021 has been transformed into a General Hospital , maintaining its leading role in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

    Services provided

The Department focuses on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, hormone therapy, supportive and palliative care, and treats all cases of malignant neoplasms requiring short hospitalization.

With the aim of achieving the best possible outcome for the patient, the Unit offers comprehensive treatment, including psychological support and nutritional counselling.

    Spaces and equipment

The premises have been properly equipped and designed so that patients can receive their treatment in comfort and safety, in accordance with international and recognised standards.

The spatial layout of the unit allows for constant supervision and constant monitoring of patients. The infusion of medicines is carried out in special chairs and wards, ensuring “privacy”. Each patient has an autonomous room, with TV, radio, telephone and an attendant’s chair.

All chemotherapy regimens are prepared under sterilization conditions in a special chamber with a vertical filament flow machine, while the administration of the drugs is carried out using special electronic pumps to ensure accuracy in the way and time of administration.

    Staffing

The Department of Pathological Oncology is staffed by specialized oncologists and experienced nursing staff, in direct collaboration with all the necessary medical specialties and the laboratories of the General Hospital GENESIS.
